The council's colour palette is primarily green, using two shades, one light and one dark, for greater contrast and depth.
White and black is also heavily used for type and in layouts for better readability.
'Proxima Nova' was chosen as the council's overall typeface, a simple sans-serif with clear letterforms for the best readability both on screens and in print. This choice prioritises accessibility and helps ground the brand with a professional, modern look.
'Obviously' in bold is the suite's heading, a heavy and well defined font that commands attention with a trendy and energetic look. This helps introduce a greater sense of personality to the council, and aids them in better identifying with young constituents.
The logo is purposely very simple, to maximise legibility, recognition and compatibility across all the council's needs.
It features an abstract rendering of a Hart, a symbol strongly associated with the borough, taken from the council's former logo.
Although made to be displayed in green, the logo works just as well when reduced to black and white which is essential for local government bodies, where official documentation may need to be photocopied or colour printing is unavailable or unnecessary.
There are two versions of the logo for different use cases, a compact 'square' one and an extended rectangular one.
